 Hello October

Gee whiz fall is here! It seems that the summer just flew by but when I look back on it I think of all the neat things I had a chance to do and the great people I met.

Early summer brought high school graduation parties and summer festivals. Then our cousins from Italy arrived for a visit - their first time in the U.S.!

I took another botanical illustration course at the the New York Botanical Garden. I cannot say enough good things about the continuing education program. Excellent instruction with options for in-person, hybrid, or online. I prefer online to avoid the traffic.  The image above is a mushroom in pen & ink with a micron 01 pen.

At the end of August I was at Hog Island

 Audubon Camp

https://hogisland.audubon.org/.

Fine instructors, new friends, and great food. If you have a chance to attend one of their sessions you will not be disappointed.

I am also honored to have several artworks displayed in juried and invitational shows in Connecticut this fall.

I hope you are enjoying the change of seasons while living a simple creative life.

Hello October!

Where did summer go? Below are some of my drawings from the online Pen & Ink class I took through the New York Botanical Garden in July.

The images below come from my Art and Birding week at Hog Island Audubon Camp in Maine. The green crab was found in a tidal pool and was safely released after the pen and ink drawing was completed. The flowers were drawn while sitting by the pollinator garden. Later watercolors were added. The third image is a stamped image of a loon made during a printmaking workshop at camp.

I hope you are following your creative spirit wherever it is leading you. I am.
